From Dining Room to Dream Kitchen: A Navy, White and Gold Transformation

When we first visited this home, the space you see in these photos was not much of a kitchen at all. It was a dining area with a table, a refrigerator standing on its own against the wall and two different types of old floor tile meeting in the middle of the room. The homeowners knew the area had potential, with vaulted ceilings, sliding doors to the back patio and a direct view into the living room. They just needed someone to imagine what it could become. Our team designed and built a brand new kitchen from the ground up, and the before and after speaks for itself.

Flooring

We started by removing the old tile and installing large format porcelain throughout the kitchen and living area. The polished white surface with bold grey veining looks like natural marble and instantly makes the space feel brighter and bigger. One continuous floor also ties the kitchen and living room together into a single open space.

Cabinets

For the cabinetry, we went with a two tone shaker design. The uppers and tall pantry cabinets are bright white with crown molding at the top, and several of the upper doors have glass fronts so the homeowners can display their beautiful gold rimmed glassware and china. The lower cabinets and the island are a deep navy that gives the room richness and depth. Brushed gold arched pulls on every door and drawer bring warmth and a touch of luxury to both colors.

A tall cabinet tower holds the wall oven and microwave combo, and the refrigerator now sits neatly between cabinets with storage above, so the whole wall looks built in rather than pieced together.

Countertops and Backsplash

The countertops are a white quartz with dramatic grey veining. We ran the same quartz up the wall as a full slab backsplash behind the induction cooktop and stainless chimney hood, where those big sweeping veins look like a piece of art. Every surface flows together, from the counters to the backsplash to the island.

The Island

The island is the centerpiece of the new kitchen. Its navy base is wrapped in quartz that drops down both ends in a waterfall edge, and our fabricators carefully matched the veining around each corner. A large undermount sink with a brushed gold faucet sits right in the middle, so whoever is cooking can face the living room and stay part of the conversation.

The Coffee Bar

Next to the refrigerator, we created a dedicated coffee bar with deep navy drawers, glass front cabinets above and a matching quartz top that finishes in its own waterfall edge. It is the perfect spot for the espresso machine, mugs and morning routine, and it keeps the main counters free for cooking.

Lighting

To complete the look, gold ombre glass pendants hang over the island and a gold globe chandelier lights the rest of the room. Together with the gold hardware and faucet, they give the whole kitchen a warm, elegant glow.

The Result

What used to be an underused dining area is now the heart of the home: a bright, elegant kitchen with plenty of storage, a stunning island and a style that feels completely personal to the family who lives there.
