All Navy Shaker Kitchen with Brass Hardware and White Quartz
Most people play it safe with color in the kitchen, but these homeowners wanted something bold. They asked for a space that felt rich and confident while still being bright and welcoming. We went all in with deep navy cabinetry from top to bottom and balanced it with white quartz, warm brass and plenty of natural light.
Cabinets
Every cabinet in this kitchen is a deep navy shaker, finished with crown molding along the top. We staggered the heights of the uppers to follow the vaulted ceiling and add some visual interest. Beside the refrigerator, a tall pantry cabinet gives the family plenty of storage, and a cabinet above the fridge makes the whole wall look built in. A separate counter run under the side window adds even more storage and workspace.
Brushed brass pulls on every door and drawer add warmth and a touch of elegance, and they really pop against the dark navy finish.
Countertops and Backsplash
To balance all that color, we chose a white quartz with soft grey veining and a thick edge that gives the countertops real presence. We carried the same quartz up the walls as a full slab backsplash, including a taller panel behind the stainless chimney hood that turns the cooking area into a focal point. Under cabinet lighting brightens the work surfaces and makes the stone glow against the navy cabinets.
Near the patio door, the countertop drops down the end in a waterfall edge, giving the kitchen a clean, modern finish as you walk in from outside. Under the window, a brushed brass faucet ties in with the hardware and adds a warm accent to the sink area.
The Island
The island is large enough for prep, serving and seating for four. We finished it in the same navy shaker, with storage on the working side and a decorative base molding along the bottom. The white quartz top wraps down the end in a waterfall edge, making the island feel like a solid, sculptural piece in the middle of the room.
Flooring
Light wood look tile runs throughout the kitchen and adjoining spaces. The soft, natural tone keeps the room feeling airy and makes the navy cabinets stand out even more.
The Result
The finished kitchen is bold, elegant and full of personality, proof that a dark color can feel bright and inviting when it is paired with the right finishes.
