Bright White Kitchen with a Big Island, Wine Storage and Brass Pendants
The homeowners love to cook, host friends and enjoy a good glass of wine, and their old kitchen just was not keeping up. They wanted something bright, clean and timeless, with lots of storage, a big island for gathering and a few special touches that reflect how they actually live. We designed an all white kitchen with warm accents that feels fresh and inviting from every angle.
Cabinets and Storage
We chose white cabinets with a slim shaker profile. The narrow frame gives the doors a clean, modern look while keeping a classic feel. On one wall, two tall pantry columns run nearly floor to ceiling and hold everything from groceries to small appliances, so the countertops stay clear.
Above the coffee station, a pair of glass front cabinets displays glassware and cookbooks, and right below them we built in a row of wine cubbies for the homeowners’ favorite bottles. Two built in beverage fridges sit under the counter nearby, making this corner a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening drinks. The refrigerator is framed with a cabinet above for a clean, built in look, and polished nickel knobs and pulls finish everything off.
The Island
The island is the true heart of this kitchen. It is generously sized with seating for four on two sides, plus deep drawers and cabinets on the working side. We added a base molding around the bottom, which gives it a finished, furniture style look. It is where the family eats breakfast, guests gather during parties and everyone ends up at the end of the day.
Countertops and Backsplash
The countertops are a white surface with soft grey veining that brings a natural stone feel to the room. Along most of the walls, we ran the same material up as a slab backsplash for a clean, seamless look. Around the range and the window, we switched to a glossy white subway tile and took it all the way up to the ceiling. The tile adds texture and a classic touch, and it frames the stainless chimney hood beautifully.
Lighting and Finishes
Three brass globe pendants hang over the island and bring a warm glow and a hint of vintage style. Together with the black framed window and the dark wood look floors, they add contrast and keep the all white kitchen from feeling too stark. The result is bright and airy but still warm and welcoming.
The Result
The finished kitchen is clean, organized and made for entertaining, with plenty of storage, a big island for gathering and thoughtful details like the wine cubbies and beverage station that make it feel completely personal.
