Bright White Shaker Kitchen with a Pantry Wall and Open Peninsula
This kitchen sits right at the center of the home, opening to the family room and the patio beyond. The homeowners wanted a space that felt light, clean and welcoming, with more storage and a layout that kept them connected to the rest of the house. We designed a classic white kitchen with a full pantry wall and an open peninsula that makes everyday life easier.
The Pantry Wall
Storage was the biggest need, so we dedicated an entire wall to it. Tall double pantry cabinets stand on both sides of the refrigerator, with a cabinet above the fridge to complete the look. Everything is topped with crown molding that runs the full width, so the wall feels like one solid, built in piece of furniture. There is room for groceries, small appliances, cleaning supplies and more, all neatly hidden behind clean white doors.
Cabinets and Hardware
We used white shaker cabinets throughout the kitchen, finished with crown molding at the top. Dark bronze pulls add a warm, classic contrast against the white and pair nicely with the soft neutral walls. Along the cooking wall, deep drawers sit on both sides of the range, keeping pots, pans and utensils organized and easy to reach.
Countertops and Backsplash
The countertops are a bright white quartz that keeps the room fresh and open. We carried the same quartz up the wall as a full slab backsplash, which gives the kitchen a clean, seamless look and makes cleanup simple. At the end of the cooking run and the peninsula, the quartz drops down in a waterfall edge for a modern finishing touch. A stainless chimney hood with a curved glass canopy sits above the range, and under cabinet lighting adds a warm glow to the counters.
The Peninsula
The peninsula opens the kitchen to the family room, so whoever is cooking can stay part of the conversation. It holds a large workstation sink with a built in cutting board and drying rack, a brushed pull down faucet and the dishwasher. With plenty of counter space, it doubles as a prep station and a spot to serve snacks when friends and family come over.
The Result
The finished kitchen is bright, organized and full of timeless style, with a pantry wall that holds everything and an open peninsula that keeps the whole family together.
