Chef Inspired White Kitchen with a Natural Wood Island and Coffee Bar
These homeowners take cooking seriously, and they wanted a kitchen that could keep up with them. They asked for professional grade appliances, plenty of storage and a dedicated spot for coffee and drinks, all in a bright space that flows into the family room. We designed a classic white kitchen with a warm wood island and a few standout details that make it feel truly custom.
Cabinets and Storage
We installed white shaker cabinets throughout the perimeter and stacked them toward the ceiling with crown molding on top. The upper row features glass front cabinets, perfect for displaying glassware, vases and the homeowners’ collection of blue and white china. Brushed nickel pulls give everything a clean, timeless finish.
On one side, a professional built in refrigerator with a glass door and freezer drawers is framed by cabinetry with storage above. Across the room, a tall cabinet tower holds a speed oven and a wall oven at a comfortable height, and the lower cabinets are mostly deep drawers for pots, pans and utensils. A pair of barn doors nearby leads to the pantry for even more storage.
The Cooking Wall
The cooking area is the focal point of the kitchen. A professional gas rangetop with signature red knobs sits under a sleek stainless hood. Behind it, we installed a marble mosaic in a basketweave pattern with soft cream, gold and taupe tones that runs all the way up to the ceiling. A pot filler mounted right on the backsplash makes filling large pots quick and easy. Everywhere else, we kept the backsplash simple with a white quartz slab so the mosaic stands out.
The Island
The island brings warmth to the bright white kitchen. We finished it in a natural wood stained shaker that adds texture and contrast, and topped it with a white quartz with soft veining and a thick, substantial edge. It holds a workstation sink with a pull down faucet and the dishwasher on the working side, with seating on the other side facing the family room. Sculptural spiral pendants hang above and add a modern, artistic touch.
The Coffee and Beverage Station
On the far wall, we created a dedicated coffee and beverage station that the homeowners use every day. A built in coffee system sits in its own tall cabinet at eye level, next to a small prep sink. Glass front cabinets hold mugs and glassware, and natural wood floating shelves add warmth and a spot for favorite pieces. Below the counter, a wine fridge and a beverage fridge keep drinks ready for guests.
The Result
The finished kitchen is bright, warm and built for serious cooking and easy entertaining, with professional appliances, a stunning mosaic backsplash and a natural wood island that brings it all together.
