Complete Home Transformation: Kitchen, Living Room, Outdoor Kitchen, Bathrooms and Closet
Some projects come together one room at a time. This one was different. The homeowners wanted the entire house to feel modern, polished and cohesive, with a clean palette of white, charcoal and natural stone carried from room to room. We handled the design and build for the kitchen, the living room feature wall, the outdoor kitchen, both bathrooms and the primary closet, and the result is a home that feels like it was designed all at once with a single vision.
The Kitchen
We went with a two tone European look. The upper cabinets are flat panel doors in a high gloss white that bounce light around the room, while the lower cabinets and the island are a deep charcoal with a handleless design for clean, uninterrupted lines. The refrigerator is set into the cabinetry with storage above, so the whole wall looks built in.
The focal point is the accent wall behind the cooktop. We installed a dark textured tile in a vertical stacked pattern and took it all the way to the top of the cabinets, framing the glass and stainless chimney hood. On either side, a white quartz with soft grey veining runs up the wall as a full slab backsplash. The same quartz tops the island and drops down both ends in a waterfall edge. A workstation sink with a spring faucet sits right in the middle of the island, and there is seating for four, plus a built in wine fridge just around the corner.
The Living Room
The living room needed a centerpiece, so we designed a custom feature wall. In the center, a large format porcelain slab with bold marble veining rises almost to the ceiling. It is framed on both sides by grey slat panels with modern sconces mounted right onto them. Along the bottom, a dark concrete look porcelain base houses a long linear fireplace, topped with a white floating ledge that is perfect for art and decor. It is the first thing you notice when you walk into the room, and it pulls in the same charcoal and white tones as the kitchen.
The Outdoor Kitchen
With a waterfront backyard like this one, the outdoor kitchen gets a lot of use. We built it into the covered patio with a smooth stucco finish that matches the house. The countertop is a granite with sweeping waves of grey, white and deep blue that look right at home next to the water. The layout includes a large built in grill, a prep sink, an outdoor refrigerator and stainless access doors for storage. A pass through window above the counter connects the space to the rest of the outdoor living area, which makes serving guests easy.
The Primary Bathroom
For the primary bath, we wanted a true spa feel. We covered the walls from floor to ceiling in large format porcelain with dramatic marble veining, which gives the room a luxurious, seamless look with very few grout lines. The vanity is a charcoal flat panel design with plenty of drawers, topped with white quartz and a vessel sink. LED backlit mirrors provide soft, even lighting, and a frameless glass shower lets the stone walls take center stage.
The Primary Closet
The custom closet is one of the owners’ favorite spaces in the house. We designed a full closet system in a warm wood grain finish with double hanging, long hanging, a tall shoe wall and open shelving for folded items. In the center, a charcoal drawer stack with chrome pulls ties back to the bathroom vanity. A chevron pattern on the back walls adds texture, and integrated lighting at the top makes everything easy to see.
The Guest Bathroom
We gave the guest bath the same modern style on a smaller scale. A grey flat panel vanity with a white quartz top, a vessel sink and a waterfall faucet creates a clean and stylish look, finished with an LED lit mirror so guests feel just as pampered as the homeowners.
The Result
Every space in this home now speaks the same design language, from the kitchen to the backyard. It is modern, functional and built for both everyday living and entertaining.
