Cream and Wood Kitchen with a Gold Veined Waterfall Island
This home has a warm, sunny feel, with soft golden walls and a backyard pool right outside the windows. The homeowners wanted a kitchen that would match that warmth while feeling elegant and updated. We designed a kitchen built around cream cabinetry, rich wood and a stunning gold veined stone that ties everything together.
Cabinets
Along the walls, we installed cream shaker cabinets with crown molding at the top. The soft, warm white is a little more inviting than a bright white and pairs beautifully with the golden tones in the rest of the home. Brushed brass pulls and knobs add a touch of luxury and complement the veining in the countertops.
Next to the refrigerator, a tall double pantry gives the family plenty of storage for groceries and small appliances, and a cabinet above the fridge makes the whole wall look built in. Under the window, the sink run has cabinets on both sides and the dishwasher tucked in nearby for easy cleanup.
The Island
The island is the star of this kitchen. We finished the base in a medium wood stain with shaker doors, which brings natural warmth into the room and creates a beautiful contrast with the cream perimeter. The island also houses the induction cooktop, so whoever is cooking can face the family room and stay part of the conversation.
On top, we installed a white quartz with bold gold veining that drops down both ends in a waterfall edge. Our fabrication team carefully matched the veins so they flow naturally from the top down the sides, making the island look like a single piece of stone. With storage on both sides and outlets built into the panels, it is as practical as it is beautiful.
Backsplash and Sink Area
We carried the same gold veined quartz up the wall behind the sink as a full slab backsplash. The sweeping gold lines frame the window and give the sink area its own focal point. A brushed brass pull down faucet ties in with the hardware and adds the perfect finishing touch.
The Result
The finished kitchen is warm, elegant and open to the rest of the home, with cream cabinetry, a rich wood island and gold veined stone that make the whole space feel luxurious and inviting.
