Navy and White Shaker Kitchen with Copper Accents and a Built In Coffee Bar

These homeowners have a fun, colorful style, and they wanted a kitchen that reflected it. The goal was a bright, open space with a long island for family meals, plus a few personal touches that would make the room feel like theirs. We combined classic shaker cabinetry with bold color, warm metallics and a dedicated coffee station to bring it all together.

The Island

The island is the star of the room. We finished the base in a deep navy shaker that grounds the space and adds a rich pop of color against the white cabinets. It is topped with a bright white quartz with soft grey veining, and the stone drops down both ends in a waterfall edge for a clean, modern finish. The island is long enough to seat the whole family, and on the working side it holds the dishwasher, plenty of drawers and a large workstation sink with a spring faucet, so prep and cleanup happen right in the middle of the action.

Cabinets and Hardware

Around the perimeter we installed white shaker cabinets that keep the room light and fresh. Tall pantry cabinets next to the refrigerator give the family a huge amount of storage, and the fridge is framed with a cabinet above for a built in look. The detail that really makes this kitchen stand out is the hardware. We used copper pulls on every door and drawer, and that warm metallic finish looks stunning against both the white and the navy. Copper mesh pendants hang over the island and carry the same tone up into the room.

The Backsplash

Behind the range and along the counters, we installed an arabesque glass mosaic in shades of grey, white and silver. The lantern shape adds a soft, decorative pattern, and the glass has a slight shimmer that catches the under cabinet lighting beautifully. It adds movement and texture without competing with the island.

The Coffee Bar

One of the owners’ favorite features is the built in coffee bar. We recessed it into its own nook in the wall with white shaker cabinets above and drawers below, finished with the same quartz and copper hardware. The arabesque tile wraps all three sides of the nook, and small ceiling lights make it feel like a little café corner. It keeps coffee makers and mugs off the main counters and gives every morning its own special spot.

The Result

The finished kitchen is bright, cheerful and full of personality, with plenty of space for cooking, gathering and starting the day with a great cup of coffee.
