Taj Mahal Quartzite Kitchen with European Aluminum Glass Cabinets
This is one of those projects where every material was chosen with real intention. The homeowners love to entertain, they have a beautiful collection of crystal and dinnerware, and they wanted a kitchen that felt as refined as a high end showroom while still being a space they cook in every single day.
The star of the room is the Taj Mahal quartzite. It is one of our favorite natural stones to work with, with soft cream and taupe tones and gentle golden veining that moves across the slab like waves. We used it everywhere it could shine: on the countertops, as a full height backsplash behind the cooktop, wrapped around the custom range hood and dropped down the end of the island in a waterfall edge. Our fabrication team spent a lot of time on layout so the veins flow from the backsplash up into the hood and continue naturally around every corner. That kind of matching is what turns a beautiful stone into a true showpiece.
For the upper cabinets we installed European aluminum frame doors with clear glass. The slim bronze toned frames feel modern and architectural, and inside we added wood backs, glass shelves and integrated lighting. At night the cabinets glow and the crystal and china look like they are on display in a gallery.
Below, the cabinets are flat panel in a warm oak wood grain with a handleless design. A recessed channel runs along the top of each door and drawer, so there is no hardware to interrupt those clean lines. Two wall ovens sit side by side right under the induction cooktop, which makes cooking for a crowd much easier.
Along the window wall we installed two workstation sinks so two people can prep and clean at the same time without getting in each other’s way. Bridge style faucets in a rich dark finish add a classic touch that plays beautifully against the stone. The large window above opens the kitchen up to the outdoor living area, perfect for passing food and drinks out to guests.
The result is a kitchen that is warm, elegant and built to be enjoyed for many years to come.
