Warm Modern Kitchen with a Fluted Range Hood and Quartzite Counters
This kitchen was designed for a family that loves to cook and loves to host, and they wanted a space that felt like a high end restaurant kitchen wrapped in the warmth of a home. The result is a mix of natural wood, soft neutral tones and a few sculptural details that make the room feel truly one of a kind.
The lower cabinets and the island are flat panel doors in a warm wood grain finish. We went completely handleless, using recessed black channels between the drawers and along the top of each door. Those dark lines give the cabinets a crisp, architectural look and echo the black toe kick that makes the whole run appear to float just above the floor.
Up top, the wall cabinets and tall columns are a soft matte cream with no visible hardware at all. They frame the cooking wall quietly and let the centerpiece of the room take the spotlight: a custom curved range hood with a fluted finish. The vertical grooves add texture and movement, and the rounded corners soften the clean lines of the cabinetry around it. It is the kind of piece that guests notice the moment they walk in.
Beneath the hood sits a professional dual fuel range with its signature red knobs, ready for serious cooking. Behind it we installed a full height quartzite slab backsplash with soft grey and cream tones and gentle veining. The same stone tops the perimeter and the island, finished with a thick edge that gives the countertops a solid, substantial feel. Under cabinet lighting makes the stone glow in the evening.
The island is long enough for a full row of seating and has two sinks, one for prep and one for cleanup, with faucets in black and brushed gold. Overhead, a custom wood ceiling panel with built in LED lighting ties the warm wood of the cabinets into the architecture of the room.
The final result is a kitchen that is warm, refined and completely functional, the perfect balance of style and serious cooking space.
