Warm Wood and White Kitchen with a Statement Hood and Natural Stone

The homeowners came to us with a simple wish: a kitchen that felt calm, natural and a little bit special. They loved the warmth of wood but did not want the room to feel dark, and they wanted a few standout details that would make the space feel truly custom. We designed a two tone kitchen that balances soft white and light wood, then brought it all together with a beautiful natural stone and a hood that commands attention.

Light Above, Warm Below

We kept the upper part of the kitchen bright with white shaker cabinets that reach toward the ceiling. The top row has glass doors with interior lighting, so the cabinets glow softly in the evening and add depth to the room. On the side wall, a tall pantry wall frames the refrigerator with stacked storage above, giving the family plenty of room for groceries and everyday items.

Down below, the base cabinets and the peninsula are finished in a light wood stain that brings natural warmth and texture into the space. Brushed brass pulls and knobs connect both finishes and add a soft, elegant shine.

A Display Cabinet with a Glow

At the end of the peninsula, we designed a tall wood display cabinet with glass doors, glass shelves and warm interior lighting, plus two drawers at the bottom. It is part storage and part showcase, and it gives the kitchen a beautiful focal point as soon as you walk in.

The Hood and the Stone

The cooking wall is where this kitchen really shines. We built a custom hood with a smooth white finish and wrapped the bottom in a wood band that matches the lower cabinets. Behind it, a natural stone with gentle waves of cream, grey and taupe runs up the wall as a full slab backsplash. The pattern looks almost like windswept sand, and with the under cabinet lights on, it adds incredible depth and movement. The same stone covers the countertops, so everything flows together.

The Peninsula

The peninsula opens the kitchen to the living area and gives the family a generous surface for prep and casual meals. It holds an undermount sink with a brushed brass pull down faucet, and outlets are built neatly into the wood panels. Three white stone pendants with brass details hang above, adding a soft glow and a modern touch.

The Result

The finished kitchen feels warm, bright and thoughtfully designed, with a custom hood, glowing display cabinets and natural stone that turns everyday cooking into something a little more special.
