Waterfall Quartz Island with Stacked Stone and a Two Tone Kitchen
This kitchen was all about making a big first impression. The home has an open layout, a tray ceiling and polished marble look floors, so the homeowners wanted a kitchen that would stand out the moment you walk in while still feeling bright and welcoming. We built the whole design around one statement piece: the island.
The island is wrapped in a white quartz with bold grey veining that flows across the top and drops down both ends in a waterfall edge. Our fabrication team took extra care lining up the veins at each corner so the pattern continues naturally from the top down the sides, making the island look like it was carved from a single block of stone. On the seating side, we added a stacked stone panel in warm cream and beige tones between the two waterfall ends. That natural texture adds warmth and depth and keeps the island from feeling too sleek. The island also holds a black undermount sink with a polished chrome pull down faucet, making it the main prep station of the kitchen.
For the cabinets, we went with a two tone European look. The lower cabinets and the middle row of uppers are a high gloss white flat panel that reflects the light and keeps the room feeling open. Above them, a row of rich walnut wood grain cabinets runs all the way to the ceiling, giving the homeowners tons of extra storage. The same walnut finish wraps the tall cabinets that frame the cooking wall, so the whole space looks balanced and built in.
Behind the cooktop, we installed a linear glass and stone mosaic in shades of grey and white, running it up to the cabinets for a strong focal point. A pot filler sits right above the induction cooktop, so filling large pots is quick and easy. The perimeter countertops match the island quartz, which ties the entire kitchen together.
On the side, we created a separate beverage station with a built in wine fridge and its own small waterfall quartz top, the perfect spot for coffee in the morning or drinks when guests come over. Glass pendants hang over the island and finish the space with a light, airy touch.
