White Shaker Kitchen with a Bold Blue Island and Gold Hardware
These homeowners were not afraid of color, and we loved that about them. With blue ceilings running through the main living areas, they wanted a kitchen that would tie right into the rest of the home while still feeling bright and fresh. The answer was a classic white kitchen with a confident pop of blue right in the middle.
The perimeter features white shaker cabinets that keep the room light and timeless. Upper cabinets line the walls for plenty of storage, and a tall pantry column sits beside the built in wall oven. We set the refrigerator and oven side by side into the cabinetry so the whole wall looks clean and organized, with cabinets above both to make use of every inch.
The island is where the personality comes in. We finished it in a rich blue shaker that picks up the color of the ceilings and gives the room a real focal point. Long brushed gold pulls run across the drawers and doors, and the warm gold against the blue looks absolutely stunning. We carried the same gold hardware onto the white cabinets so everything feels connected.
For the countertops we chose a white quartz with soft grey veining. On the island, the stone wraps down the side in a waterfall edge for a clean, modern finish. We also ran the quartz up the wall as a full slab backsplash, which keeps the look simple and makes daily cleanup quick and easy.
The result is a kitchen that feels cheerful, polished and full of character, proof that a little color can completely transform a space.
