White Shaker Kitchen with a Built In Wine Bar and Quartz Slab Accents
The homeowners love to entertain, so they wanted a kitchen that would look beautiful, cook well and give them a dedicated place to serve drinks. We designed a bright white kitchen with two special features: a cooking wall framed by a stunning quartz slab and a built in wine bar that feels like a little lounge right inside the kitchen.
Cabinets
We went with classic white shaker cabinets finished with crown molding at the top. Bronze arched pulls add a warm, slightly traditional touch and stand out nicely against the white doors. The lower cabinets are mostly deep drawers, so pots, pans and dishes are always easy to reach.
The Cooking Wall
The cooking area is the focal point of the kitchen. Instead of continuing the tile behind the cooktop, we installed a full height panel of white quartz with bold, dark veining that runs from the counter all the way to the ceiling. A stainless and glass chimney hood floats in front of it, so the stone looks almost like a framed piece of art. Below, an induction cooktop sits flush in the counter, with a wall oven built right underneath to keep everything compact and efficient.
The Backsplash
On either side of the slab panels, we installed a linear glass and stone mosaic in soft shades of grey, white and taupe. The long, thin pieces add texture and movement, and with the under cabinet lighting turned on, the glass catches the light and gives the whole wall a gentle shimmer. We even used outlet covers that blend with the tile, so nothing interrupts the look.
The Wine Bar
Along the opposite wall, we created a full wine and beverage bar. In the center, two X shaped wine racks hold the homeowners’ favorite bottles, with a stemware rack right below so glasses are always ready to grab. Behind it, we repeated the same quartz slab panel used at the cooktop, which ties the two walls together and gives the bar its own focal point.
On both sides, frosted glass cabinets add a soft, elegant touch and keep glassware and serving pieces neatly displayed. Below the counter, a dual zone wine fridge keeps red and white at the perfect temperature, surrounded by plenty of drawer and cabinet storage. The refrigerator sits at the end of the run with a cabinet above for a clean, built in finish.
Countertops
The countertops are the same white quartz with dramatic dark veining. It brings the look of natural marble with the durability and easy care the family needs for everyday cooking and entertaining.
The Result
The finished kitchen is bright, elegant and made for hosting, with a slab accent wall that commands attention and a built in wine bar that makes every gathering feel special.
