White Shaker Kitchen with a Flower Mosaic Backsplash
This kitchen started with a simple request from the homeowners: keep it bright, keep it clean, but give it something people would actually notice. White shaker cabinets were an easy choice for the bright and clean part. They never go out of style and they let the rest of the room do the talking.
The backsplash is where this project really comes alive. We installed a marble mosaic in a flower pattern, with white petals set against a soft gray stone that has a natural wood grain look to it. Up close you see every little piece, and from across the room it reads as one calm, textured wall. We ran it all the way up to the window sill so the pattern frames the view of the trees outside instead of stopping short.
Project Information
For the hardware, we went with brushed gold bar pulls on the cabinets and matched them with a gold pull down faucet over the sink. That warm finish keeps all the white from feeling cold and ties in nicely with the warm tones in the stone. The countertops are a light gray quartz with an undermount sink, so cleanup is easy and nothing breaks up the surface.
It is the kind of kitchen that feels good to walk into every morning. Lots of natural light, a little bit of personality, and finishes that will still look right years from now.
